Picked beets yesterday, and last night Diane canned them. We got 12 pints plus about a half pint. Have to wait about a week for the pickling does it's work.:thumbup:
We grow a lot of beets for the greens, pick the leaves small all summer then in the fall pull the beets and can them. Mom made Harvard beets from the pickled beets, just add sugar and cornstarch and heat them on the stove. We do that as a side vegetable....James
