where to buy 1941 air stack cap for john deere model A slant dash

where to buy 1941 air stack cap for john deere model A slant dash

I have only seen one online and it was rusted bad.
I have searched several online tractor stores

I believe these are related part number from my tractor.

    A2232R Crank case cover
A2233R Crank case oil fill, breather
    A2334R Crank case oil cap

I would like to replace that screen with an original cap, used or new.
    What exactly is it called?
    What is its part number?

A neighbor and I have ordered from Steiners several times. Their stuff has been good so far.

So far I have not found one for the 507,300 serial range for my 1941.
Any I have actually seen for sale seem to be for the range above or below that.
    I may be missing something.
I would not hesitate to buy one that would fit.
    I appreciate yall helpin.

    Filter Core

"where to buy 1941 air stack cap for john deere model A slant dash"

    You might consider contacting VINTAGETRACTORS.COM.

Scroll down at least 2/3 - 3/4 of the page.

There is a photo of the A2233R Breather, used with A2246R cover, $25.

There is a photo of the A2234R cover for A2233R breather, $12.50.

There is a photo of the Core for above breather, $12.50.

it is referred to a a "filter core".

Unable to determine a part number.

    Hope this helps.

    James, thanks for the help.

I have the filter core. I did not know what it was called.

I need the 'cap' on the tube in the first image below where you see the screen and radiator clamp holding it on.

closest I see to what I need is : Breather cap, $15
You see the screen on my long tube, I need a cap that goes on the top.
That Breather cap, $15 looks like it is a shorter tube than mine for some other model.

My image is the tall pipe with screen making do for the missing cap.
The other image is where you pointed me and is the closest thing I see to what I imagine my missing cap to look like. It might be that cap would fit my tube, but it looks like a bigger diameter tube.

I have only seen 1 other slant dash jda with my oil cap and breather set up. It was on ebay. My breather cap would fit by the battery and under the hood pieces there.

    Breather Cap

"My breather cap would fit by the battery and under the hood pieces there."

You might consider using a cap AM 371 T designed for the M Series tractors.

Take a look at the diagram below.
    Air Cleaner.jpg

Note the cap (Key 1) AM 371 T.

This may not be OEM correct, but it might be "functional".

If you are interested in trying this cap, measure the outside diameter of the tube of your breather.

I can measure the diameter of the cap on "Sparky" our 51M.

There are several caps to choose from listed on eBay.

    Hope this helps.

Mine is 1.35 inches outside diameter.

I think the AM 371 T cap is wider. I saw one on ebay as you said.

This is what mine looks like.

I have a parts manual and cannot find a diagram like mine.
I do find my year part a359r but it looks like it would not be electric start and so is straight and not hooked like mine.
It could be the right diameter, maybe. However, I cannot find it either.

I will settle for one that fits.

    I appreciate the help.
    Thanks

    Breather Cap

The inside diameter of the breather cap on the M is 1.625.

The inside diameter of the breather cap on the 40 is 1.75.

Both would be a "loose" fit at best.
