1970 Massey Ferguson 135 - only moves with PTO set to engine
Hello All, I just picked up a 1970 MF 135. It is really in great shape and appears to have all the bells and whistles. I got it REALLY cheap because the owner said the H/L shifter was stuck in Neutral. Once I got it home the H/L shifter was indeed free, however when shifted into any gear in high or low, there is movement at the tires. With trans fill plug out I can see shifter moving gears. The PTO shaft turns when clutch is let out (two stage clutch). While messing around with PTO Engine/Ground, I found the tractor would move forward (and forward only) when in PTO Engine setting, but didn't seem to engage properly in Ground. I am hoping someone is familiar enough with this drivetrain to point me in the right direction. So I don't tear too much apart needlessly. Thanks

Do you have about 1" of free play before the clutch release bearing makes contact with clutch fingers?, might be badly out of adjustment, Or main clutch linings may be shot, and slipping.
