I just walked in the door from a road trip that started at 7 this morning. I will post some pics late tomarrow because I now have to turn around and leave again, but it is a 1957 ford 740 with a set of ford 2 row cultivators. I'm pretty excited about my new project and can't wait to get started. The old tractor is not in too bad of shape, and has new tires and wheels on the back which is a plus. I'll most certainly post some pics and let yall be the judge tomarrow.

I located this one in southern Indiana. It needs some carb work, and I plan on changing the charging system back to a generator, but the number one priority is to tighten the steering up ASAP. The pront pedestal is very sloppy. I've been revewing my service manuals and plan to tear into it sometime this week. I've allways wanted one too souNdguy, and just lucked upon this one via my neighbors dad. The 2 row ford cultivators were purchased new with the tractor i'm told and are certainly a bonus. I'd love to fix them up too and show them with the tractor, but they make it a pain to haul around expecially with my tall gooseneck trailers. Hopefully i'll keep ya'll posted as I make progress and I might have a few questions along the way that might need your expirence to answer. Fall is here and I've got a feeling this just took top priority on my list of many projects to do this winter. That is until my wife finds something better for me to do. HA, HA!

Thanks!

Thanks to your dirrections I found my way without a problem. Those people in Switzerland Co. were fine people and I spent much of the day with them looking at farms and equipment. The day started out wet but turned out ok. Thanks for the info tractorfellow!

I'm hoping that I can make a run this weekend to Ohio to my favorite ford tractor junkyard and pick up a few little things that I need to complete the tractor. I'd also like to get the thing steam cleaned asap or at least before it gets any colder so that I can check for leaks and opperate the tractor in decent weather and get an idea of everything I'm going to have to do to it. So much to do and so little time!!!

From what I can see it looks pretty good. Blue and Gray I have to say blue is my favorite color, just don't tell my John Deere. But I not sure about your favorite color the last time I saw you was at Allisons and you were driving something that was Flambu Red. Anyway good luck with your new project, I'm sure its at the top of the Honey Do list.
