My first pull with my WC was pretty good but my tires were too tall so I couldnt pick up any engine speed. 238.60 feet at 3750lbs....they eliminated the 3500lb class I was set up for

It was a blast! I was a little worried after dumping on the extra weight and never hooking to a sled before but still very fun and didnt lose by much! Two restored WC's got me by 9 and 15 feet and a Super H Farmall got me by 28 feet oh and an Oliver 77 got me by 32 feet. I already have some improvements in the works! Laughing

The Thumb tractor pulling association comes into PH where we live and uses their sled and rules, online rulebook for us. A friend of mine owns a local grain elevator with scale of course for weighing the tractor. So I guess whoever the governing body for your local pull is where to start

Our club (S.C.R.A.P. Inc.) had it's 2nd pull for 2010 season this past saturday @ White Star Park, Gibsonburg, Oh.
Over 100 hooks, - good turnout/ great weather.
If you want to see our rules/etc., you can visit our website & click on "news" & go down to "pullin", - there may be some pictures of the July 10th's pull if our webmaster gets it updated.

www.S-C-R-A-P-Inc.org/

The club has been holding these pulls for many years now, about 4 per season.

All kinds of different rules by the club spouncering the pulls.

Were we used to pull you were weighed just before hook up so there was no sitting in the pits and fooling around with the weights. Your tractor must have a PTO and could only turn 19HP per thousand pounds of weight. At the end ofyour pull if you werein the top 4 you had a buddy standing over you so there again was no weight fiddleing or engine fiddling.

We stopped pulling when they changed the rules that the engine only had to appear stock and dynoing after a pull was stopped.
The pulling soon came to an end when the money people could just throw money and win.

Several of the places now have motercycle flat track raceing now.

Dad taking 2nd place 5000 lb class Evart Michigan 1992 with 1951 Massey Harris 44.

Brother in law top pic 1st place Massey Harris 1945 101 senior 5000 class Hersey Michigan

At all the pulls I have been to you go to the scales directly from the sled. That way there is no "fiddling " with the weight. They also check hitch hight at the scale.

They weighed me and measured the hitch height, i then lined up for the pull. Its a trophy only thing on the date I was there so nothing was really at stake except bragging rights

McBain, Marion, Evart, Hersey, And a place that slips my mind on M66 South of the US10 crossing were the bigger pulls in our area. I heard latter when the pullingwas dieing out they added Farwell, Clare and Harrison. I don't know we just quit going.

Very Happy Al
