My friend has this F-12 that he put together from spare parts and the engine and clutch is out of an industrial type machine....I thought combine but he said no it was a stationary. I dont know enough to tell for sure Confused The clutch will engage but not disengage, I opened the inspection plate and saw a collar with a grease fitting and line that slides over a bearing of some type. The collar or bearing is worn and wont disengage the clutch. The question is can I service this bearing without breaking the tractor in two?

Got a pic of the clutch area. If it were factory 12, then yes, but I need to see how the clutch is adapted to the tracotr and engine.

I screwed up and didnt get the pic....I will have it by this weekend though. The shaft comes out of the trans and three bolts to the shaft coming out of the trans. Its all covered by a metal half circle bolt on cover, if that helps

I'm not sure if the problem is
the clutch won't disengage ever
or
it will engage ,then won't disengage,

Anyway that clutch is an over center industrial type , it has an adjustment pin , visible in on of the pictures and the pressure ring is threaded to provide for adjustment , it doesn't take much out of adjustment for the clutch to either slip or not disengage , if the collar is still connected to the throw out ring it should be Ok
BTW that is probably a push to engage , pull to disengage type , opposite of a "normal " clutch

Wish I could help ya out, but Ive never been inside the clutch on a power unit/stationary unit before. Seems though that there should be a couple of bolts on that shaft or on the TO bearing carrier or somewhere in there to take out and allow the shaft to slide out.

That clutch looks identical to the one in my MM ZAU. I did the clutch in my F-12 easy enough but it didn't look like he left enough room to pull the bell housing cover off and clear the input of the trans, that's why they have such a big coupler in there from the factory. When you do get it apart take the shaft out of the bell housing and cut it off shorter and put the factory F-12 center piece in there so next time it's a breeze.

How do I get the shaft out of the side of the bellhousing? there are no external bolts, is there something internal i need to take loose? the bolt on top of the collar you can see in the pic was tight but I cant see the bottom half. the collar slips right onto the shaft when the lever is pushed forward it will slide up and onto the shaft and engage the clutch it just wont disengage.

I have seen quite a few industrial drive set ups like that where the throw out shaft is a solid piece, and has the throw out fingers welded to the shaft , and therefor not remove able . I will try to find a exploded pic from a crane manual
