Well everyone, the tractor is done! finally!
we fired it up and got everything checked out, then painted the sheetmetal with a spary gun, first time doing that. Then put it all back together and put the decals on.

We fired it up again today and let it run for a while, we noticed it was burning just a little oil, and the oil pressure was very low, at the low line on the guage. im kinda at a loss on that, I really dont want to take it all apart again just to change the rings, so for not ill try addatives and add oil on occasion. too many projects on the list right now. And I think were going to keep it after all.

and for comparison here is the beginning of the project.

Seems like I've read there is an adjustment for oil pressure. Have you checked that? and I think I remember reading the filter body or was it the tube could have some holes that would cause low oil pressure. Hope you get it sorted out.

If the oil filter is overtightened the top of the inblock canister distorts and causes a leak where the lines hook to the top of the canister,
fordbroncodave just had to fix this problem on his A

It may have been over tightened many oil changes ago ,most of the time the canisterin the block warps away from the junction block where the center stud is mounted, you might be able to remove the junction block (from inside the crank case and then straighten out the top or the canister enough to get a decent seal , also if you seal the junction to the canister watch for excess oil pressure because usually the bypass is screwed all the way in to try to get more pressure

i know all about oil pressure now Rolling Eyes

make sure there is only 1 O ring type gasket on the cup. if there are 2, remove one. pour 1 gallon of oil in it and let it dribble a little bit. tighten until oil stops. clean edge repeatedly to not mistaken it still leaking.

if that doesn't help, you may have a loose oil line fitting, crack in a line from stress or vibrations, blown oil canister gasket or blown oil distribution block gasket, warped and distorted oil canister top (gasket eventually blows out if warped enough from my understanding)

maybe even have to plastigage your babbited rod bearings and see if they are up to standards.

or your timing might be ever so slightly off

we have had issues with the timing, and it may be off just a tad, but it does fire up good now, not before though
